(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is having a summer prep program for Leadership Education and Training (LET) 1 students, or incoming freshmen, to learn about JROTC. Students can sign up for the program by contacting LRHS JROTC instructor Lt. Richard Roller.
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls basketball team had an informal banquet last Sunday to wrap up the year. There was food, drinks, and a pool so everyone could have a fun time. Coach Tina Hadley handed out awards and spoke highly about everyone on the team and about the parents. Every senior on the team is going to college and some are committed to play ball.
Progress reports are almost here, and the door to get grades up is almost closed. Progress reports are scheduled for release Thursday. Many students have mixed feelings about progress reports coming out so soon. Junior Brianna Donahue said, “I’m not worried I usually get good grades but we will see.”.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS softball team came out with some big wins this weekend, with a 14-2 win against DeSoto High and 3-1 against Lake Region High. Junior Kailey Christian pitched the victory against DeSoto. Payton Kinney led the Mustangs to victory against Lake Region. The Mustangs have a record of 22-2 and going strong.
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS prom tickets are on sale and it’s getting close to prom day. Sale prices are scheduled to go up $5 April 17-19. Prices will rise $10 before sales stop April 21. Officials from the Junior Advisory Board (JAB) say most kids don’t get their tickets till the last two weeks.
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS basketball star and University of South Carolina commit LaDazia Williams added two more awards to her collection, concluding her senior year of high school basketball. The Lady Mustangs’ 6’2 center was recognized as MVP and class 8A Player of the Year. Her hard work and consistent drive got her recognized.
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS girls basketball scored another playoff win Thursday in the regional quarterfinal against North Port. Even with two of the best players out of the game for medical reasons, the rest of the girls kept pushing on making the final score 55-35. Team member Megan Veneman, senior, said, “At the end of the day it was a good win but it was a sloppy win, we could’ve done so much better.”.
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS girls basketball team was in Washington D.C. from Dec. 8 -13 for the “She’s Got Game” tournament. This was their first time going out of state for a tournament, and coach Tina Hadley hopes it won’t be their last. They played Friday through Sunday and came out with a 2-1 record.

Maddy Fabbro, sophomore, said, “they’re better than report cards, so I can get my grades up if I need to, so I guess they’re good.”. (LAKEWOOD LEADERS, FL) – Lakewood leaders is a community service club that anyone can join at LRHS. This year the club has a new sponsor. LRHS math teacher Meghan Sugalski has taken over for college and career coordinator Michelle Todoroff adviser for this club. Sugalski said That “I was worried that if I didn’t step up and sponsor this club, that it would be dissolved.”.
